Privacy Policy
The short version
SunDeck collects no data. None. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no server of ours that your data could travel to. The App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected" because there is nothing to collect it with.
Your location
SunDeck uses your location on your iPhone to point its solar engine at the right sky. It is processed on the device and never transmitted to us — we have no backend. If you deny location access, the app works fully with a manually chosen city.
Apple services the app talks to
- Apple Weather (WeatherKit) supplies forecasts for the Light Score. Requests go to Apple under Apple's privacy terms.
- Apple Maps (MapKit) supplies map tiles, search, and Look Around imagery, under the same terms.
- iCloud (CloudKit) syncs your saved Spots and alarms inside your personal, private iCloud database. We cannot read it.
OpenStreetMap
If you use the building-shadows feature, the app requests public building footprints for the visible map area from the OpenStreetMap Overpass API. The request contains map coordinates of the area you're viewing and no identity or account information. Data © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We receive no payment details.
Children
SunDeck collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the update ships with the app and this page, with a new effective date. Given the architecture — no accounts, no servers — there is very little that could change.
